Last thursday 10th, the Eurospace Center (a Space Camp, probably the only one left in Europe) organized its Night of the Falling Stars. As a friend and president of an astroclub, I was invited and went there and met lots of other club members (from other clubs too).
The field in front of the center has a glass model of Hermes and an actual unused Europa II rocket (yes, none were european successes as one failed and the other never flew).
We gathered our telescopes on the grass and my PST was the only scope used the whole time because it was meant to look at the sun and it had been shining a few minutes while it never was a clear sky after sunset.
I was interviewed on the french speaking TV and later at night on the radio.
It was an interesting afternoon and evening. There were many visitors and several conferences (about exoplanets, about meteorites).
The field
Europa 2 rocket and the interview on TV (Jean-Marie Mengeot took this).
The PST has a lot of success when the sun shines!
Here are Joseph, Jean-Marie and myself as presidents of astronomy clubs from Dinant, Namur and Gembloux.
The rtbf busy interviewing; the last 2 pictures were taken by Ashraf Niaz.
My T-shirt was one ordered years ago at the NSS with "Return to the Moon to stay"
