BP was likely caught in an Enron like scheme to boost oil prices. When Congress started asking questions and asking for proof BP backtracks from their decision to shut down the Prudhoe Bay for months to make extensive repairs. Since I saw no pictures of rust to prove BP's unusual move, then there was probably no rust to begin with.

BP (British Petroleum) yesterday took the decision to continue production from the Prudhoe Bay western operating area (WOA), following review of new inspection data of pipelines in this area and after extensive consultations with state and federal regulators.
