I wonder...
The best I can figure, there are three regular Zoners who may already have been born the day that flag was raised. Another small cluster of us (myself included) were born a few years later. I'll bet all of us recognized the name "Suribachi" without further prompting.
How many of the not-yet-40-somethings did? Among the Zoners old enough to have adult (or nearly adult) children, how many of your kids might connect Suribachi to a handful of Marines raising a flag, let alone know when, where, and why it happened?
