Crippled 'em:
Capture a 'severe blow' to al Qaeda in Iraq BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- "Al Qaeda's number two operative in Iraq, Hamed Juma Faris al-Suaidi, has been arrested, the U.S. military and Iraq's national security adviser announced Sunday.
"Al-Suaidi, also known as Abu Rana and Abu Humam, is said to be No. 2 in the terrorist group al Qaeda in Iraq, behind Abu Ayyub al-Masri."
Now for his predecessor, another "severe blow": (Ya gotta wonder who is being blown.)
"U.S. President George W. Bush said Zarqawi's death "is a severe blow to Al Qaeda and it is a significant victory in the war on terror."
Same thing. Now why would that be so significant? If, God forbid, something happened to one or two of the US generals, would that change things? The way the US is creating terrorists, losing hearts and minds, I somehow think there is no way to kill or capture them fast enough to make any headway.
And in general, you have to wonder why people still listen to this guy:
Monday, June 20, 2005; Posted: 12:19 p.m. EDT (16:19 GMT) WASHINGTON (CNN) -- "The insurgency in Iraq is "in the last throes," Vice President Dick Cheney says, and he predicts that the fighting will end before the Bush administration leaves office."
Arf
"Capture a 'severe blow' to al Qaeda in Iraq." Severe blows, and last throes.
