"Gonzales: More money to fight crime unlikely. Despite spike in violence, money going to war on terror, AG says."

There is increased crime in the US. The AG says there isn't the money to protect the citizens because it's been diverted to Iraq. And Afghanistan. (Where the citizens aren't safe, either.)

And checking the personal effects of little old ladies boarding airplanes in Duluth and Des Moines. Having them throw out their denture cream as a potential bomb. (All of which is a victory for the still free and living OBL.)

One has to wonder how many trained policemen and -women are in the National Guard and have been taken off this nation's streets.

It would seem to me, then, that the increased crime rate here is one of the failures of the way Bush has gone about the "war on terrorism", and OBL could still count it as a success. His success.

If only Bush could have done it right. The world would be grateful, and a lot more American and others would be alive and safer.
