Hmm, I'd be interested to see color photos of them, then. Any reason in particular that the photos Nasa releases all seem to be in B&W rather than color? And are the color photos true color or false color of some type?
Don't suppose you happen to know of any galleries online with true color photos of comets/asteroids? That would actually be a pretty nice comparison. I do like seeing thiings from a different perspective. So, if the color photos are significantly different from the B&W shots, that would be a good thing to know and may round out the ol' understanding a bit...
So, we're saying basically that over billions and billions of years, if I were to tape like 5 rocks together and let them sit for that long, then in billions and billions of years, they'd all have somehow turned into one bigger rock? That's a pretty amazing concept. Do we have any actual proof of this happening? I mean have we ever actually put a bunch solid/rigid of rocks together and watched them turn into one big rock? I mean, granted, I know that like mud and stuff can get all lumped together and turn into one big hard layreed mud ball. So, I guess the concept isn't all tht outside the realm of possibility. But in space, we're talking mostly about fairly rigid objects in the deep parts of the outer solar system. I mean mud wouldn't form in space like that, right? It would be too cold and everything would be pre-frozen? Why am I now getting this bizarre image of taking a tv dinner (turkey with mashed potatues and gravy) out of the freezer, stripping the packaging taking out the lump of frozen mashed potatoes and the lump of frozen gravy, and settingthem in the freezer and trying to mix them. But sometime the more I thump them together, the more I realise they're just not going to mix 'cause they're frozen solid. Of course, you could thaw them and mix them, but that would require quite a bit of heat... Or you could have frost accumulate on them and make them lool like one big thing even though they still haven't been mixed, only covered in frost.
Okay, I'm goingto bed, I can't wrap my brain around how you get 2 solid objects or frozen objects to merge, right now. G'night.
cheers,
~Michael
