"It's a much greater stretch to accept the official conspiracy story than to consider the alternatives."

The sad fact is that the government officials have lied, deceived, and been plain wrong so much, so very much, and so obviously, that no thinking individual trusts them any more. Whatever they say is suspect.

And that truly is sad.
