How could people get so worked up into a frenzy over that pontificating fool Benedict's obscure quotation of some 14th century ruler's criticisms of Islam, during a long, boring academic discussion on faith and reason?? Who really cares? Get over it. Relax. Chill out and go back to your 5-a-day prayers.

And wow, it's a great thing the Pope didn't do something really outrageous and offensive...like draw a few mild satirical cartoons. That unspeakable outrage would have been sufficient grounds for riots and mayhem, torched embassies, and of course, an Islamic counter-exhibit of cartoons poking fun at the genocide of 6 million human beings, which apparently by some perverse logic evens the score...

And heaven forbid anyone should even unintentionally show a lack of sensitivity to Muslims. Everyone knows just how kind, caring and sensitive they are towards non-Muslim cultures and religions. And what's the score in Darfur right now??
