Churchill recognized the loss ...........

Of India as a colonial possession when England lost the moral imperative to Ghandi and his manner of resisting British force when Indians marched to the sea to collect salt. The reports of British brutality repulsed the British public and they withdrew their support for the reigning leadership. Churchill went from being the hero of Britain to losing his political position and whining "The Mighty British Empire has been brought to its knees by a dirty little man in diapers."

Winnie was put out to pasture to write memoirs and paint. The artistic exercise doesn't involve moral and ethical articulation of position. Hey, maybe Bush can paint us a picture?

The world at large no longer sees the United States in any position of moral leadership. Even after the Civil War, the civilized world view the US as a nation of savages with a cowboy mentality, but the view was still one of an honest and moral nation. It does not appear this is my nations presentation on the world stage today. Pity.
