Scientists value the Moon
We must return to the Moon, scientists say.
It's the first extra-terrestrial reachable body, it is part of the Earth-Moon and Sun system, it contains info of our own past.
Some are even planning on counting and indexing all the craters in order to understand our past. (I don't know if they're setting a limit to the craters sizes).
