Let's not forget that Hitler was careful to pass laws legitimizing everything he did. Legality doesn't make something right...but dare I point out how the use of laws to legitimize tyranny is a classic appeal to authoritarian conservatism? Law, to an authoritarian conservative, is the word of Authority set in stone and turned into the moral imperative of scripture. QED: Anyone with the power to make law must possess the moral authority to do so, so it must be right, forever and ever, amen.
