"The hitherto unreported attacks have been kept secret by the Bush administration for fear that it would damage attempts to co-opt China in diplomatic offensives against North Korea and Iran."

Wrong. They've been kept secret to keep from the American Public how our preoccupation with Iraq has emboldened our enemies because they know we're spread too thin to do anything about it, even diplomatically or economically.

The Chinese hold too many of our IOUs for us to be too tough with them right now, they and the Saudis have been financing our deficits for years.

I also suspect the Chinese are aggressively pursuing techniques to disrupt our computer communications and cyber economy by developing weaponized computer viruses. I've heard rumors of this, just as I've heard rumors of the laser attacks on our satellites, but it doesn't take a mental giant to figure this out. They're doing exactly what I would do if I were in their position.
