"White House press secretary Tony Snow told reporters that Clinton spent his presidency “dramatically” slashing military and intelligence assets that are vital to fighting global terrorism."

Forgetting that Ashcroft cut Clinton's counterterrorism budget just before 9-11.

< href="http://www.criminology.fsu.edu/transcrime/articles/How%20Sept_%2011%20Changed%20Goals%20of%20Justice%20Dept.htm">"But in his Sept. 10 submission to the budget office, Mr. Ashcroft did not endorse F.B.I. requests for $58 million for 149 new counterterrorism field agents, 200 intelligence analysts and 54 additional translators.

"Mr. Ashcroft proposed cuts in 14 programs. One proposed $65 million cut was for a program that gives state and local counterterrorism grants for equipment, including radios and decontamination suits and training to localities for counterterrorism preparedness."

Bush & Co. seems to throw out any sort of bullshit, hoping some of it sticks. And it does, with the True Believers.

And, by the way, Bush had a NSA who said, "Who would have thought terrorists would fly airplanes into buildings?" And she was on the payroll.

And they're still trying to blame Clinton!!!
