And I jump in...

You were exactly right when you said in the other limb of this thread, "Science changes as new discoveries are made."

Thus, curiosity is always renewed, every new piece of evidence drives the curiosity to learn more, and every turn of the page is an experience of awe.

With creationism, there are no new questions, just "God did it, sing praise."

And in my opinion, that kills young minds. Enslaves them to a life of not asking questions, of not exploring, of not learning things that turn one's world view up-side-down.

I care because I don't want the genius of America's youth shackled with ancient myth. I want them to explore the universe with wide open fearless eyes, free to think about what they observe and how it fits into the whole. To stand on the "shoulders of giants" and bring us new knowledge, endlessly. Otherwise we are drones, easy to control.

Creationism is a boring dead end; a waste of the grey matter nature so kindly provided. If there is a God that gave us such skills, I think she'd be pissed off at her creations not using the skills she gave us. She'd want us to use the brains born of divine spark.
