DOWNING STREET
"It's important that people remember that we are in Iraq at the express wish of the democratically elected Iraqi government, to support them under the mandate of a UN resolution."
MINISTRY OF DEFENCE
"We have a clear strategy in Iraq. We are there with our international partners, in support of the democratically elected Government of Iraq, under a clear UN mandate."
Both of these are hilarious. That puppet "democratically elected Iraqi government" wouldn't last 10 minutes if not held in power by 180,000 armed, shooting foreign occupying troops.
Along, of course, with air and naval power.
The reply is pap for the masses who just read headlines, and those not well. And for US Conservatives.
