How many employers want applicants with 5 or 10 years experience, when they could train someone to do a decent job in a few days?
How much is experience worth when it consists of doing the same menial repetitive task over-and-over for years on end?
Why should some uneducated dropout get the management job based on seniority when he is utterly illiterate, innumerate, and would be put in charge of people with college & university educations?
Why bother to spend years getting a degree and extra certificates when your job application will be turned down anyway based on a lack of 2-3 years experience?
If I had the opportunity, I would make it my mission in life to make it illegal to require experience to get a job. I would write it into the constitution, just like laws against discrimination based on age, because that's all it is. Age discrimination, repackaged in different terms.
