Why would a unified Korea pose a threat to China?
Does Japan pose a threat to China these days? No.
If North Korea succeeds in militarizing the region, then maybe China would have reason to fear Japan, but baring that, China has nothing to fear from having democracies next door.
Were I the Chinese I would fear more that the crackpot running North Korea was going to plunge the whole region into complete chaos.
