Current Events » in reply to One day Gaza will be returned to Israeli Jews who rightfully belong there.

More religious thinking that, in the end, is the basic problem with the whole conflict

It was Abraham, the father of the Jewish and Israelite peoples through his legitimate son, Isaac, who received the title to the land of Israel, including Gaza and the West Bank.

From who? God? Are you going to make this claim with a straight face? If so- shall we do genetic testing to find out if we can determine who is a decendent of Abraham? Shall we give free title to anyone who we can determine has that common genetic lineage? What if that means moving in a few million moslems? What if it means kicking out a few 100,000 jews? Are you willing to live with that?

It rightfully belongs to the Israelite and Jewish people.

The Ishmaelites [Arabs] have no valid claim to that land.

Almost without exception- the peoples inhabiting a land now are NOT the same peoples (culturally or even often in terms of lineage) that were inhabiting a land 3000 years ago. Beyond that, A 'jew' from several thousand years ago would look at a 'jew' today and see not a 'jew', and probably vice-versa. This notion that a piece of land belongs to the jewish people because you have a silly little book (that also talks about unicorns, great floods and dates the earth at a number that is billions of years wrong ) that says something like 'yeah, the jews get this piece of land' is perposterous. As silly as basing foreign policy and land rights off of whatever trends are dominant in the UFOol community.

Look- you believe whatever bass-ackwards nonsense you want. Lindy gets her UFOs and black helicopters, SDAI gets his vorti-whatevers and you get your silly notion about what some Big Mojo Dude In The Sky gave someones great-geat-great-great-great grand-daddy. But don't for a minute think that this justifies you in throwing anyone out of their homes or that you have a right to insist that the world conform to your nuttery, no matter how 'respectible' or 'mianstream' that nuttery is. Your beliefs end at your front door. They do not extend to peoples right to their property or our foreign policy. A foreign policy dictated by religious nuts has not made the middle east a livable place, and neither will nutcasses trying to run ours with nuttery like your last post.
