re: PlanetQuest - predicted results

SIM PlanetQuest is predicting they will find at least one planet with less than 3-Earth masses around every one of the 120 stars in the survey group. That's 120 rocky planets. Surely that prospect is enough incentive to build a telescope capable of examining them in greater detail?

What would it take to achieve that greater detail? How big a telescope would be needed to see small features on these planets, such as:

1. Mountain ranges, craters, mares;
2. Green vegetation, large forests or cropland;
3. Alien elephants, snapshots or video;
4. The color of the elephant's eyes.

Someone must have some kind of designs for these things?
