Didn't mean to imply it is a waste of time
Einstein waited years to prove part of E=MC^2 by way of an eclipse and it was a red letter day for scientists who had been operating on the premise that the equation was correct.
I assume that the current excitement is similar to the eclipse event where a widely held theoretical assumption will become proven.
I have the greatest respect for the research that scientists undertake and to add proof to theory can be monumental.
