Yeah .. great for mathematical theorists .. and for manufacturers & wholesalers of Excedrin or Tylenol. Not really necessary at all for composers or even the most advanced musical theorists. A lot of it seems to use math to "prove" what advanced composers already know empirically and intuitively. So I'm beginning to suspect it's a waste of time, at least personally speaking. Most of it is way above me anyway.
