Ah well, we see clearly now that SETS - the Search for Extra-terrestrrial Stupdidity - is really just a great scheme by Paul Allen to make yet bilions more dollars with his existing Microsoft billions - "billions and billions" of dollars, to paraphrase the late Carl Sagan...
I used to think that an extension of the copyright laws to award rebroadcast rights in perpetuity would be required to fund SETS, but now I know I was wrong. In as much as the (Paul) Allen Arrary is the only reciever capable of recieving SETS signals, his group will have the exclusive international rights wihtout the necessity of any modifications to any copyright laws being passed.
Six foot high lizards doing vaudeville - the ratings will be amazing even for song and dance routines that are decades old...
I wonder if the aliens will have porn channels, or just the smarmy stuff that features so much on Fox. Lizards engaged in unusual acts... perhaps as regular primetime fare: "Desperate Lizards"...
And then they're'll be the religious broadcasting... everybody ready for the impaled lizard with the foot wide jaw all full of teeth?
I suppose they'll handle racial problems on their shows, yellow lizards versus green lizards versus purple lizards...
And cooking... new ways to saute primates?
And shelter... Rock and Swamp?
In any case, its going to be a box office bonanza...
Great scheme on Paul's part. Of course, the Japanese will immediately come up with television sets especially modified to ensure the highest fidelity rebroadcasts.
This also explains Allen's interest in Jimi - Undoubtedly Allen and company plan to use Hendrix tunes for the intro and outro music...
(I seem to have exceeded six words.)

Imagine the ratings for shows from another planet : Paul Allen's secret scheme
