I have yet to watch O'Reilly's show, although obviously I've seen things he's said in articles and other references. I rarely watch cable network news--including Fox--unless there's something visual on, like live coverage of some important event, or something I need to see on TV to watch it happen. Even then, I find the chattering idiots talking over the event irritating, and prefer direct connections (like NASA TV) when I can get them. I generally follow election results on the internet, although I check in on TV once in a while. My standard technique for catching up on news when I can't get to the internet, like when I'm traveling, is to turn on a cable news channel (doesn't matter which one) and check the "crawl" on the bottom. Anything hot will be there. I ignore the gasbrain talking on the top, and in fact, usually mute them.
Haven't seen network news in years.
David Letterman is at least entertaining, but I haven't watched nighttime TV in a long time either.
