Prior to Hillary, a first lady's place was in White House protocol and dinner parties, not the Oval Office . . .
There have been a few exceptions in history, as far back as Madison, but none who actually sought the presidency itself.
Once we do get the first first gentleman out of the way, though, the next hurdle will likely be the first woman president presiding over a first woman VP.
