Regarding that bacteria supposedly found in the Surveyor 3 camera (which is on
display in the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. - the camera,
not the microbes), it has been reported that there was a breach of protocol when
the camera was being examined, so the microbes may have arrived only after the
camera was returned to Earth. No other microbes were found on any other
returned parts of Surveyor 3.
