Progress in Iraq? Tom you just can't give it up can you?

Even Georgie boy has given up on "Mission Accomplished." But not you. You are indeed the "Energizer Bunny" of the boards.

It is neither the business, nor in the best interest of the United States to go around the globe removing tyrants, they abound and the task would be never ending. Besides, we have to worry about our own home grown tyrants.

Free elections? OK, this is a good start. But, it arguable as to how legitimate elections are when they are seen to be produced, directed, and staged by an occupying force. And it will be interesting to see how you laud free elections should the Iraquiis in the future vote to install a theocratic Islamic government and do away with future elections. Will you accept that state of affairs as the legitimate will of the people? Indeed this will be interesting.

As for resconstruction of the financial system, infrastructure rebuilding, free press and media, access to modern communications and increase in consumer goods--all this is subject to argument right now and is certainly not the universal perception of the Iraqi people. And, to the exstent that it is true, how enduring an institutional change does this represent? Are you counting the growth and commercial success of al Jazerra as part of this administration's success in giving the Iraqi access to modern communications? Methinks thou are spouting "Mission Accomplished" again.

Your claims of progress are claims of premature elocution and the forerunner to what you will see as an early withdrawl and history will as the US foreign policy coitus interruptis.

And if you are going to be consistent, shouldn't these same goals be sought for the rest of the Axis of Evil as defined by Bush and his Eminence Gris? Or, are you content to practise the same dishonesty of which you so freely attribute to those you don't agree with?

I have high hopes for the results of the coming election. I look forward to a Democratic party victory in as wide an area as possible because I share the general philosophy of that party and think a government so led will better work for the people and the well being of the planet. If the Democratic victory is limited and we have a divided government, I will see that as an improvement also. At a minimum, I look forward to a restoration of a more civil government that will provide a more deliberative policy than we presently enjoy.
