Yes, the current UN force has been ineffective against Hezbollah re-arming.

What we've recently seen is the tactical effectiveness of small rockets against Israeli blitz-krieg tactics.

Israel is relying on the UN to hold their northern front - some hope they will be able to persuade the US to attack Iran.

The problem here is that would leave the 150.000 or so US troopers in Iraq a long way from home. Someone here (Fox?) mentioned a withdrawal to Kurdistan as an option in this case...

Iran for its part has no interest in stopping its armament of Hezbollah as long as Israel continues to take more Palestinian land, and continues to attack Palestinians.

The nightmare continues to move along...
