More libertarian issues than conservative

Both of those issues address more an elimination of government oversite over our lives which, to tell you the truth Tom, the Republicans have simply not embraced in recent history. Now the Libertarians go way too far for my tastes completely absolving citizens of social responsibilities to pay back some of the advantages they receive by living within secured borders.

I think the gun rights issue is dissolving quickly anyway if other centrists and progressives are thinking like I am. Since my teens I've lost my early love affair with things that go bang but this recent abuse of power by your party opened my eyes a bit as to worst case scenario. Generally the Republicans are going to be more heavily armed individuals than the liberals and centrists and if we ever descended into a Constitutional crisis brought about by the right it might behoove the center and left to have some modicum of defense at their disposal. I might actually buy a gun again. I cringe at the thought of that action but I'd hate to find myself in a revolution picking up rakes and shovels to fight tanks and guns. Maybe I'll puchase the arms and bury them in a cache somewhere. Seems surreal to tell you the truth.

As far as the property right issue Tom, you'd probably be surprised to find out I voted for a proposition here that would severely curtail government ability to take private land for their own use. We've seen horrible abuses of that power here lately and it's time to draw a line in the sand.
