I'm wondering if the Rs might get a bit nervous with Pelosi behind Cheney for President. Cheney has heart problems, is enormously fat, and has quite a temper. If it weren't for the hospital following him around everywhere he goes, he could easily have serious, serious difficulties.

AND, he disappears for long periods of time. Security, they say. (Why doesn't he stay "disappeared", then, if they can't keep him safe?)

Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't drink more than the bit he claims to, either. Why would he have had to disappear overnight after he shot the fellow hunter in the face? A bit too much to drink? Or it wasn't a serious matter? I'll bet on the booze. I don't think that Cheney is a slam-dunk to live to 2009 if he did become President.

OK. My surmise. The R's might want to solve that problem AND prep someone for Prez by installing him, or her, as VP prior to 2009 so as to give him/her a head start. Maybe Frist, maybe Jeb, maybe someone else?

After all, GWB promised Cheney a job until 2009, too, and we know how truthful GWB is. If he says we're winning, we're losing. If he says bipartisanship, he means "my way". Etc.

Just ask Rumsfeld.
