Hi Nick -
No need to panic. Dealing with SW3 in 2022 and MN4 in 2029 is Mike Griffin's job now, by act of Congress.
You can call the Washington, Dc directory information service to get the NASA switchboard. Then call the NASA switchboard and ask for Mike Griffin's office.
I can't promise you Mike himself will take your call, but somebody there will. I don't know what he intends to do, but ne mnye problemi, as my Russian friends put it - not my problem. By act of Congress.
As far as "global warming" goes, the data seems to show that it is nonsense, a summary of which I placed a link to a week ago. But then that is not my field, aside from saying that the palaeoclimate data in the link article looked right.
The weather is always strange somewhere. Stranger than usual? It may be due to the holes in the ozone, and I am worried about aluminum from SRBs working as a catalyst in the freon reaction. Again, not my field, and I really don't want to engage on it any further than that.
Of course, given that folks in Australia are dying of skin cancer at higher rates thanks to the holes, this should be of concern to your scientists.
In any case, trading paper will not solve global warming, if it exists, any more than solar power will - I think whatever the relationship, it makes sense to go to nuclear electric power now. I also think that setting up irrigation agriculture in sub-saharan africa to work as a CO2 sink would make great sense.
