I like the panoramic, though, such as:
The Big Sky
Around the World in 80 Days (David Niven and Cantinflas, of course)
...sidebar: Cantinflas was a Mexican comic actor, did amazing work, but generally in Spanish.
Silverado
Laurence of Arabia
Ishtar ;^D
...even -- Waterworld...
The Big Country
Master of the World
Spartacus
Mountains of the Moon
Though priceless, these lists can go on and on.
Sadly, one of my favorite jungle flix, "Mister Moses," starring Robert Mitchum (terrifying in "Cape Fear," and amazing in his first “The Story of G.I. Joe”) does not exist in the private sector. This masterpiece was never released.
I supposed it's the closed environment I enjoyed so much in the jungles of Panama that make me favor getting lost in the wide-open movies, but I'll still watch anything with a jungle in it, dark or otherwise.
