Thought I'd pass this by everyone in the Habitable Zone for comment:
Anarchists want everyone to believe that they are 100 percent free from dependence on others for their success. In Afghanistan people live like this by default, owing to isolation and a simple way of life. To defeat this mindset and/or status quo it might be advantageous to create a system of interconnectedness. The banking system is one example, where one's investment values rise and fall based on the success of others' business ventures. If a system of microcredit were created in Afghanistan, where taxes collected from Afghan citizens were returned to them as a function of the success of an infrastructure project, then they might be more willing to condemn terrorist acts to destroy those projects. For example, if tax money were used to build a road that collected tolls on foreigners, which were then paid back to Afghans, then Afghans would be less likely to support road-side bomb attacks.
Is this a good idea, or not?
