A new island among the Tonga Islands
NEW ISLAND AND PUMICE RAFT, TONGA
A new volcanic island emerged in the Tonga Islands in August 2006. A pumice raft
appeared in the region at the same time. News reports released in November 2006
brought the volcanic activity international attention.
