Pat Conroy and Vietnam

I would not personally agree with the term "coward." Involuntary conscription muddies a lot of water. Nor do I agree that he would have had to serve in the military to be able to morally protest the war. That is just another side of the "chickenhawk" argument.
But I think some of the new insights on the value of his own nation, and the differences between us and our enemies, were good ones.
