I thought I just saw an article saying MOND was nearly proven wrong; or at least that the existance of dark matter could be inferred by recent observational analysis of colliding galaxies.
I am not a trained science professional but I am an avid science reader. I believe the arguement was related to the way interstellar gas reacted during and after the collision of two galaxies and where the gas ended up after they passed through each other.
Can somebody help? It was in both Discover and Pop Sci. Maybe Scientific American too.
I've never been a fan of dark matter or energy and can't wait for the next breakthrough that REALLY explains these things in a more concrete framework. Not being able to find, observe, or directly measure 80% of the universe is unacceptable. I'm confident that people like the ones who contribute to this board will one day figure it out. Please hurry...
