Story
Cowboy is doing "show and tell" for grade school class. He's explaining his dress - the hat is to protect from sun and rain, the kerchief is the same, the shirt is heavy and protects from brush, too, the chaps protect his legs and pants from stickers. The gun is loaded with birdshot to deter snakes.
"Why are you wearing tennis shoes?", one little boy asked.
"So people won't think I'm a truck driver!"
