"Gates: Iraq Failure Would Be 'Calamity'" He's absolutely correct.
"Robert Gates assumed the helm at the Pentagon on Monday, warning in his first public remarks as defense secretary that failure in Iraq would be a "calamity" that would haunt the United States for years."
And Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice were told by the French, Germans, Saudis among others that it would be a failure. That it would be a calamity.
And it is a failure, it is a calamity, it's all over but the dying. It doesn't take a genius to see that, though it does take an idiot to ignore or deny.
