An explanation of the official Ford pictures.
David Hume Kennerly, Ford's official photographer, is a local guy, and I went to hear him talk shortly after Ford left office. Interesting man.
He said he used black-and-white as he thought it captured more of the people, the expressions, and subtlties than did color. He thought that when using color a person's clothing, or flowers, or whatever, would detract the viewer from what was really happening or important.
Interesting, I thought.
