Alternate Uses of Wormholes

Suppose wormholes could be made, but were never practical as a direct means of transportation. What other use would this technology have?

-- Could we use it to travel in time? Would time slow down in a wormhole? Could we bury a wormhole in an asteroid, enclose ourselves within it, then propel the asteroid toward the nearest star system, then upon arriving 100,000 objective years later emerge from the wormhole with only a few minutes subjective time elapsed?

-- Could we use it to keep food cold and fresh?

-- Could we use it to disinfect or wash dishes?

-- Are wormholes good to eat? LOL.
