I was talking to a friend the other day about science fiction books we both enjoyed and I told him that the mind keeps returning to a book I'd read as a youth that started out with the premise of humans of the future exploring the moon and finding a skeleton in a spacesuit. When analysis is done on the remains, it turns out the body is 50,000 years old. The entire book then is this forensics investigation of where he came from. I remember being absolutely blown away by the wild ideas put forth in the text.
Well, thanks to the magic of Google, I found the book title and author - "Inherit the Stars" by James P. Hogan and to my surprise the entire text is readable online. The link is at Inherit The Stars. It's a marvelous read. I'd love to know if anyone else had read it and their thoughts.
By the way, I did a search of the author and he's a bit out there these days. I'm glad I didn't know about how wacko he is when I read it or I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much.
