My view is that Olbermann should at the very least be taken with a cubic meter of salt simply because he is indulging in the liberal equivalent of Rush Ranting or Bill Spinning. I do enjoy the release of his rants, but they are what they are. If the left is going to effect real change in this country, it should be done using more dialogue and less diatribe than the right did in their brief period of ascendency. In fact, beyond the debate about policy and platform and etc, the real problem in this country is the current state of the political process. The problem is in the grassroots, and the solution has to be the same. No more ranting and Raving psudo-news celebrities. More substantive discourse.

And no, he is no Edward R. Murrow, not even close. Even though he stood up when most journalists were running for cover under the political firestorm of the past 6 years, he has (in my view) stood up primarily for the wrong reasons. I give him credit as due, and find a lot of merit in his opinions, but he is no Murrow.
