re: New aircraft carrier to be named after Gerald Ford
I think it's fitting to name the new carrier after Gerald Ford. It being the prototype, the honor is multiplied as the entire class will forever be known as "Ford-class" carriers. Very nice.
Rather cool tech info, too, though it was covered with the fingerprints of obfuscation, as are all such looks "inside" new military tech. I nominate the electromagnetic catapault for the innovation award--first fundamental improvement in that aspect of operations in, what, 70 years? Good stuff.
