I saw that earlier this evening, and thought it was charming. I picked up a sense that the singer was a little bit miffed at all the attention that the dancer was getting, but with that sweet innocent smile I'm sure nobody could stay mad at her for very long. To quote one of the comments: "There is nothing sexier than a beautiful girl with a sense of humor, i sware to god."
And you're right about keeping up with popcult through Olbermann, as well as the Daily Show and Colbert Report. The way I learn about popculture these days is a lot like channel surfing. I didn't see the SNL clip because I watch it probably less than half the time anymore...itself a reflection of my increasing distance from its pop culture references. I'd never heard of the video before tonight. And I didn't see Keith's Monday report. But somehow I put the story back together from all those fragmentary pieces.
650,981 views on YouTube, BTW. I hope the kids go on to fame and fortune.
Another BTW: Tonight's Olbermann's clip is on the air now.
