It soulds like Bush has been reading the H'Zone.
When you are in charge of a project that goes south, you don't turn around to your critics and demand: 'Well! how would YOU solve the problem'. The point is that its your respnsibility. Especially if you were the initiator of the project, and made every assurance to all parties that the project would succeed within certain budgetary and manpower constraints. As I sais elsewhere already- if I comported myself professionally in this way, I would expect to find boxes on my desk before the meeting even broke up.
This response from Bush is something akin to a pilot of a crashing plane responding to the cries of the passengers: 'well, what would YOU do!? Huh!? HUH!?'.
Its not the Job of those pointing out that the situation in Iraq has been going down hill and is accelerating in that direction. It is the role of the Commander-in-chief, constitutionally, to conduct our nations action in war. He has the perspective of the State Department, the Intelligence organs and the advice of the Joint Chiefs. If he can't do his job, and advertises the fact (IE: 'Oh Yeah!? What would YOU do!?'), then we are in deep fecal matter as a country.
