re: Bush legacy

Stock market at all-time highs

Unemployment rate low

Budget deficits falling

Tax revenues way up

Oil dips below $50

Inflation at slowest pace in three years.

This is the result of tax cuts and pro-growth policies. That's a Bush legacy. Tax cuts do pay for themselves. Taxes are down. Revenues are up. Those are hard facts.

The future budget problems are being generated, according to the article you linked to, by the massive social spending programs that are the magnum opus of the Democratic Party. The Democrats spent the last 12 years--at the very least--blocking each and every Republican attempt at reforming these. In previous years, benefits were cheerfully increased to buy votes. Again, mostly by Democrats. To try to call the Social Security and Medicare deficits a "Bush" issue is a flat-out lie.

The war that you are obsessed has little to do with this issue. The war has cost approximately $100 billion a year so far, or about what Federal entitlements (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid) eat in a little over a month. The fictional "$1 trillion" you coughed up pays for those entitlements for one year. Then another trillion the next year. And the next. And the next.
