Yes, there is still such a thing.

CBC Radio is rebroadcasting their play Afghanada, available online and also on both satellite radio systems, at the scheduled times.

"You can hear Afghanada on Thursdays at 8:30 PM and on Fridays at 11:30 AM on Radio One. "

Every day, Canadian soldiers on the ground confront the chaos and violence of life in Afghanistan. Afghanada offers a grunts’eye-view of the conflict, mirroring events currently taking place overseas. Each episode is told from the point of view of one of four main characters, soldiers voiced by Canadian actors Sam Kalilieh, Jenny Young, Paul Fauteux and Billy MacLellan. Former Afghan film star Khan Soroor guest stars and also acted as a consultant and translator for the radio drama.

Interesting.

CBC has some great podcasts, too, like Quirks and Quarks, a great science program.
