re: Most serious problem in Iraq

Maybe, next time, Tom we will bomb the crap out of Iraq and deal with country like we did Japan and Germany.
But we aren't an empire, and unless America changes a lot we aren't going to be an imperial power.
But I agree that corruption is and will be Iraq's biggest problem- but Iraq's corruption is Iraq problem, it's not our problem [dealing with our corruption is our problem].

The Dems have been looking for "exit plan" since before we invaded, this "future thinking" hasn't been helpful to Iraq nor America, but at this point in time I think it is time to be looking at how and when we leave Iraq. I know we have been following a plan of getting the Iraqi security forces to gain independent control- and this perfectly fine, and should continue. But like the Fed chairman was fond of saying we have to remove the punch bowl before party really gets started. We should leave when we think everything finally starting to "work"- and this is going to be hard to know when is the right time. We can't leave when we think it's risk free, instead we should do what we can do that gives Iraq a decent chance at being successful.

Of course we have another problem and that is Iran. Iran's problem is it's in Lebanon and the Arabs aren't happy about it. We should be using diplomacy to help Iran get out of Lebanon. And Syria needs to reach peace settlement with Israel.
