Just like you always look to the fine points but ignore the whole bull in the china shop.

("But the shop was closed for the holidays".)

You have touched on the essence of the difference in how you think versus how I think. The fact that the shop was not open would, to me, be an important factor in a story about a bull being in a china shop. To you, it means nothing, since you can apparently discard mutually-exclusive facts with little or no effort. In fact, if I were to point out that there were no china shop in that particular town, I suspect that it would change your beliefs not one iota.

Believing six impossible things before breakfast is one thing, but when you line them up, at the very least, they should be consistent with each other.

You have no logic filter. I'm sure this doesn't make you an unpleasant person. In fact, you seem to be quite the opposite. But I wouldn't want you making a lot of critical decisions, particularly for other people.
