re: For the buy it problem
Buying the crops will not work because there isn’t enough money to buy all the crops for one. The poppy industry is in the billions and the money to combat the problem is less than 100 million.
Also buying crops will produce more crops from farmers who never farmed poppy before thus flooding the market for even more money to come from the thin air to buy them, not to mention a increase in illegal trafficking.
We need to let the current program continue and increase the pursuit and conviction of corrupt officials who are hindering the efforts.
