Melting ice means global warming report all wet

"The early versions of the report predict that by 2100 the sea level will rise anywhere between 5 and 23 inches (12.7 to 58 centimeters). That's far lower than the 20 to 55 inches (51 to 140 centimeters) forecast by 2100 in a study published in the peer-review journal Science this month. Other climate experts, including NASA's James Hansen, predict much bigger sea level rises.

The prediction being considered this week by the IPCC is "obviously not the full story because ice sheet decay is something we cannot model right now, but we know it's happening," said Stefan Rahmstorf, a climate panel lead author from Germany who made the larger prediction of up to 55 inches (140 centimeters) of sea level rise. "A document like that tends to underestimate the risk," he said."

Can't model, but we know it's true.

The report will be announced friday with lot's of dire warning about the suppose changing of your climate in about hundred years. The rise in sea level in 100 years is in the range that occured over the last hundred to slightly more. And far, far short of the rise in sea level over the last two hundred year. Of course, nobody can predict what human society will be like in 50 years. No one can predict if there will be enough oil in fifty years so that it remains a cheap source of energy for the next coming decades. No one knows what world populations will be in 50 years or what they will be in decades following this. Are we going to have colonies on Mars within 50 years? Are there going to be changes in how we work, or travel within 50 years. What will India or China be like? Can anyone predict what computers will be like in 20 years? Are we going to have TV in 20 years? 50 years? 100 years? Will the UN exist in 20 years? 50? 100?
Wouldn't having some idea of global climate have more importance if the prediction was 20 year or less?
